LOCATION

 The Page House Inn is located in the fashionable,  upscale Ghent Historic District,  Norfolk,  Virginia.

The overall Ghent area is a wonderfully vital area reminiscent of Georgetown (Washington, D.C.).   In the upscale residential section immediately surrounding the Page House Inn,  one finds stately homes and fascinating turn-of-the-century architecture.  Within a few minutes walk there is a concentration of fine restaurants,  cafes,  boutiques and antique shops,  as well as historic and cultural sites.   Ghent is also home to Eastern Virginia Medical School,  a major regional hospital,  and the only free-standing children’s hospital in Virginia.    

 Within a 15 minute walk in a southeasterly direction,  one can pass through the Freemason Historic District on the way to either the Downtown commercial/convention/Waterside area along the Elizabeth River,  the upscale MacArthur Mall,  the Battleship Wisconsin,  berthed at Nauticus.

Unlike many rural inns,  our location has afforded us the opportunity to develop a lively commercial clientele as well as tourist trade.   For those that are unfamiliar with the Page House Inn,  it can be compared to a small, elegant European hotel.

From just after the Page House Inn  opened in October,  1991,  until 1995,  we were rated Three Diamonds by AAA.  On April 15th,  1995,  we passed AAA’s rigorous inspection for their prestigious Four Diamond Award,  and have received that award every year since.
